ah.. first day in taiwan has been rather fun i must say...
Mostly in part due to 2 wonderful guides who came to recieve us at the airport (flight got delayed by an hour, and we actually arrived one day earlier than their planned schedule), had a chartered minibus waiting to send us all the way to our hostel's doorstep, showed us ard abit and then volunteered to accompany us for eats at shida night market. Ate lots of nice food there, most of it i dun really know the name of... lol.. my faved were the and rou shao juan(?) and shao bing ;) Walked alittle ard simending at night and am suprised to see most shops still open ard 10pm, unlike the desert malls u get in s'pore at this time.
Thankfully the gals im gg with aren't ardent shoppers, and though we did browse thru clothes and stuff, it wasnt the painstaking experience u get when out with a grp of urban gals back in S'pore. Hurrah to that!
currently staying at this place called the taipei backpackers, which is a rather nice homely place which would be perfect if not for the small dorm room. My cuz is staying here somewhere, not sure if i'll bump into him...
Must say im slighty bemused to see the locals queuing up so nicely for everything. lol... its a good habit, but efficiency suffers abit sometimes.. imagining a whole row of ple queuing just to stand on one side of the escalator while no one makes use of the other.. in the words of one of my guies, 'taiwanese ple just love to queue..'
