Back from Korea!!! A few days ago actually, and loved the experience.
Here's some highlights from the trip :D
The backalleys of Inshadong, Seoul. While this isn't exactly a highlight, I like exploring different views of urban life, and thankfully so does my dad. Lowest temperature was -6 degrees in the day and -10 in the night. Couldn't stay out long in the cold so we hopped into the little shop with the red sign for a Korean BBQ dinner on this night.
Travelling out of Singapore wouldn't be as worthwhile without the sights of the mountains, seas and most importantly, snow!!!
Even managed to get a glimpse of tamed wildlife in Everland, Yongpyong. The picture above shows a white tiger while the one below is a liger (lion-tiger crossbreed). The liger looks more like its mother.
Speaking of Everland, here's the T-express, the only wooden-scaffold roller coaster I've ever rode. We also made a trip to Seoul Lotte World, which is kinda like Disney and Gentings combined.
Tried skiing for the first time @ YongPyong Ski Resort and couldn't get past the gentle slopes! Speed control is really important in this sport lol.. I should stick to learning to blade properly first. We also did ATV riding through the snow in Jeju Islands, which was really really cool (and cold)!
Foodwise was great!!! Kimchi in Singapore cannot be compared to the ones there, which is actually pretty delicious!
Like Kimchi, eye candy was also pretty abundant. I recall walking through one of their shopping centers and thinking,"Man all these stall owners look like models!". Koreans take very good care of their skin and looks.
In fact, I managed to get in touch with my feminine side and tried on some facial products as well :P
Couldn't resist snapping this shot while at Donghwa temple in Daegu. I should collate all my wushu pics over the world in put them into an album lol..
Visited the scenes in Winter Sonata (top, Nami Island) and Da Chang Jin (bottom, Jeju Folk Village)
All in all, a wonderful trip with my family :D
Thank God for keep us safe and giving us time together.
On a side note, I went for wushu the day after I returned and received this! A student of mine travelled to Taiwan for his holidays and his dad bought this for me (He's still in lower primary lol). My coach returned from a trip with some of the weiying team from TianJin also, and brought me some yummy food! A pretty nice welcome back home hehe...
