45minutes before I've to get back to the lab... So I'll make this snappy :P
Just last week, FYP has already siphoned off much off my plans - soul funky, salsa, flash mob, wushu and staying at home. Now, with projects from 2 modules, dance and wushu performances, I've to grasp whatever time is left. And that already accounts for me shedding whatever excess baggage I have. Not that I'm complaining from tight schedule, but being able to plan my own schedule will be really great (not zai enough with FYP procedures to do so).
But anyways, I've digressed from the motive of this post.
Sunday's sermon was on 2 Peter 9-11.
[9] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
A christian ought to be always striving, keeping in mind God's words and commandments, to become a better person, both spiritually and mentally. A christian in slumber easily gets lost in the torns of the world. He becomes blind, and falls furthur into sin yet again. Sadly, many christians are in slumber. I myself have been dozing off countless times, and drifted away from the Lord. But he always manages to pull me back, thankfully. And when he does that, the 'empty vessel' feeling I get during naptimes are filled with much peace and joy. It's something you have to experience yourself, something that is hard to describe to a non-christian. And I pray that more people close to me will be able to feel that.
[10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Every christian is elected by God even before we knew. And similarily, each christian has a calling of which we will discover through our journey on earth. Some are called into full-time ministry, most into the society's workforce. Once we are sure of our calling, pray hard for excel in our own areas. 'To excel' does not mean gunning to be top of the field, but to be the best christian testimony you can be in your own environment. Dilligently pray for dilligence in work, and lead the exemplary christian life.
[11] For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Every true christian will be recieved into God's kingdom eventually. And true christians will have an outward expression of their love for God, which can be summarised in verses 5 to 7 as mentioned previously. We sometimes just need prodding in the right direction.
