1. Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
2. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.
3. Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
This palsm was written by David, him comparing himself to a weaned child. A weaned child has autonomy, but is yet dependent on his parents. He cries to his parents for help, and quietens in his parent's embrace. He is not proud, nor hungry for material wealth. He knows his place, and does not take part in tasks he is unable to handle, nor in tasks that are not meant for him to accomplish.
A child-like faith.
A friend of mine just referred to my blog posts as 'sermons'. I beg to differ, they are anything but. I am not fit to give sermons. To say that my posts are sermons would be to "exercise myself in great matters, in things too high for me."These are merely reflections of verses I've covered recently, and while I try to write in a way the best glorifies God, I may still stray from his original intentions. Mostly, I just do injustice in being unable to cover the deeper meanings of each verse. Nonetheless, I do hope friends may find these useful, as they have been for me :)
Pray always, and may we all have child-like faith.
