Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
2 Peter 2:17-19
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
It is simple to proclaim a christian, and simple as well to teach falsely God's word. Unfortunately, there are probably many who do just that, such as 'pastors' who are poor in biblical knowledge and faith who use Christianity as a means for power and wealth. These men are 'wells without water', 'alluring lusts' through a facade, misleading many. Only God can truly discern a man's heart, and the actual intent of a person's actions... Even the most godly person can fall, as history has shown us. If so, what can common people like us do? May we all re-evaluate ourselves every once in awhile, making sure we stay true to the bible and live for the glory of God.
