It helps you focus.
It increases your productivity.
It helps you save time.
Proof?
-Last semester I had the most time to study my 4 years of study. And I scored one of my worst grades that same semester, despite taking a light but lengthy approach to study.
-I somehow score better when I've more non-academic stuff to do... :/
-Tried to start studying for an upcoming test this monday, couldn't bring myself to start till only today.
-etc etc...
But perhaps it's benefits are only limited to studying. Projects and research reports seem to fare better when given an inkling of buffer time. Skill-based work quality seems be corresponding to time availability.
And thus I have summarized the very essence of university time management in this post.
Uni-goers, make good use of it!
