Advo is pretty big on growth and development, not only in students but also in their coaches as well. They've given me a 30-day challenge - to write up my goals and reflections for every single day. As such, I've been writing a summary of each day, penning down my thoughts and feelings on workdays and even off days. It's a good practice, and forces me to organise my thoughts and actions for the day. It makes for effective use of time during working hours, although my non-working hours are still lacking in efficiency (darn you starcraft 2!). Anyways, I've finally stopped my wushu classes on sundays, and have included it in my reflections. So here's an excerpt written on 29 Aug 2010, if you're interested lol.
“…and rushed off once again to wushu lessons. It was the final lesson, and began with a good start when two of my students gave me some home-made cookies for teacher’s day. The usual crowd came again in full attendance. It wasn’t a lot of people, but I liked it that every one of them who stayed on made an effort to come down on every single week for the past month. I’ve been doing more unique routines recently, which I hoped they enjoyed. We did zuiquan today, and it was nice seeing the kids having fun as they learnt. They were still noisy bunch, and totally snatched away every single Apollo chocolate I bought for them hahah. Still, it was an enjoyable experience. Today’s night greeting was also the most ‘gusto’ one I’ve received for some time. A few old birds came down for dinner/supper too, which was really nice. I had a wonderful time teaching those kids, and have learnt much during my stint as a weiying instructor. Truth be told, ending the lesson today was a bittersweet experience. I probably will have continued if I had the adequate support from my peers/coach. On the bright side, this gives me a lot more free time to do other things I want – much needed in this period of tight schedules.
