My sis's strong subject has always been bio. And she has always liked it, sometimes showing off her knowledge by telling me interesting facts she've learnt or asking bout stuff she finds intriguing..
And now she wants to drop bio... All because she hates her teacher.
i guess i've been blessed with consistent results most of the time so i dont really have teachers hounding me much n rubbing in my face how badly i've done and how much work i need to do to catch up and what not... I hate teachers who do that, though i must admit its much easier to use 'negative' encouragement then to encourage in a positive manner... keep telling a student he needs much more work to catch up and he'll end up really needing to do much more... repeating sth for too long will embed it in the mind tts wat i believe...
Teachers do exert ALOT of influence on their students whether they realise it or not. Why, just yesterday I overheard the hatching of a sinster little plot by some sec sch students to humiliate their most hated teacher... though it could just be small talk, it does show tt teachers actually mean something to their students... My sis scored better in bio than her other core subjects, and her bio teacher says it a good choice for her to drop bio... wth... is she really interested in my sister's education or her class overall results only? kick out the lousier students n keep the good ones... an easy way out..
well.. there're terrible teachers, there're great ones too!! i've had the luck to come across really dedicated teachers who put in alot of effort to teach us... from both the 'top' end to 'bottom' end classes... (i was shifting from bottom classes and top classes throughout my sch years... hmmm... nt very consistent now tt i tink about it.. lol.. ) I respect these teachers alot and applaud them for their efforts.. students are able to tell if a teacher is at least 'concerned' with their profession... its a tough job, and to do it well is not easy... I have a pri sch teacher whom did her job exceptionally well... so much so i attribute the reason why nearly half of my pri sch class still meets up is thanks to her!
anyways to the teachers: do know tt ur actions will affect impressible young minds and will truly help mould their future... or education path at the very least... pls do not put ur students down!!
