The objective of this post: Updates!!! And to satisfy the voracious appetite of a gal who can give you a real mean kick on the behind if you ever step on her toes... (*hint: QY...)
These few days have been more or less routine... During school hours at least. The usual multitude of long lectures, undone tutorials and upcoming quizzes (yikeS!!)... Here're the more recent non-academic highlights:
70th Arrow Scouts Campfire:
Held on the 30th Aug, the campfire gives us old scouts an excuse to meet up and re-live the old times... From a distance lol... Campfire's normal, but it was really nice to see older senior batches and younger junior whom I've not met since my secondary school days... Even met a ex-primary sch kid whom we organised a camp for. That was quite a shocker since we didnt recognise him at all.. Imagine a guy who's a head taller telling you he's the pri sch kid you've tekan-ed nearly decade ago!!! Exchanged shocking gossips (yes, guys gossip too...) and played board games at my place after. A pretty nice way to end the day :) Just a note: We're seated according to seniority. My batch is the entire 3rd row from the front... Ten years and counting!
Hainan Assoc meeting: I'm now an official youth member of the Hainan Assoc. Don't tink I'll be that active in the group but I'm looking forward to learning the oh-so-cool hainanese dialect and visiting my roots in Hainan Island. Perhaps I may even get a chance to learn how to cook hainanese chicken rice!
Minor Prophet seminar: A four day seminar to cover the 12 minor prophets of the Bible, which ended today. It's been 4 fruitful days and I've learnt much on these seldom read books. Quite interesting and truly worth the while. Pray that I can remember all the lessons learnt :)
Salsa: The 1st performance team training is this friday. And every friday and thursday... Which means I'll be home only saturdays. So if you're in school on fri night, jio me for supper!!!
Wushu: The national competitions just ended not too long ago and the weiying team managed to clinch a few medals (forgot which) and many certs lol... Not too bad for an upstart group.. Hurrahh!!! Meanwhile, I shld really stop slacking...
IA: ok... The only academic item worth mentioning... I've signed up for GIP India and an internship at ICES (A recent branch of A*star) for the upcoming semester. I'm really not sure which one I want more... An overseas opportunity that may not give me a job within my scope or a local one with scope assurance. Shall'nt bother for now... Let's see if I can get thru the interviews first. The Lord will guide me..
