Everyone's complaining about doing work equivalent to the work of two but receiving the pay of one. Which makes the work of two the standard one, doesn't it?
A number of working friends seem to have given their lives for work... :/ It's either that or we can't support ourselves financially... Some tell me it's a must to learn how to dabble in stocks and shares nowadays- the current average income simply cannot suffice.
Let's try not to let Singapore reach a stage whereby people actually die from overwork... Or has it already began?
I crashed a sociology class today, the topic being 'Identity and Consumerism'. Quite enjoyable I must say, without the pressure of remembering any facts for examinations... Ultimately, we're trapped in the rat race only because of our own 'need' to better than or at least on par with our perception of self and society. I'm trapped too, no doubt... And I hope that God will provide me with means to achieve my envisioned standard or let me (and my wife) be content with what we have.
